My favorite movie has everything to do with what they say.
When I was younger I used to tell everyone that Fight Club was my favorite movie. It made me feel above all those other girls who claimed their favorite movie as The Notebook or some other cringeworthy romantic flick. And i genuinely love Fight Club. It just seemed to make since to me at the time. It sorta represented me wanting to completely separate myself from whatever the hell normal was for a 13 year old girl.
In late high school things started changing. As I got older, girls started picking up on what guys like. And why the hell do some girls change what they like for guys? So girls start saying that Fight Club is their favorite movie. I am sure they only saw it once and thought that Brad Pitt was hot or they had a soft spot for Edward Norton… But who cares that was MY movie! And they took it from me. I was never trying to impress any guys with my taste in movies.
So guess what I did. I changed my favorite movie. I took it off my Facebook because it had become too mainstream for my liking.
I hate myself for that.
